  2. Will the 64 bit version work on a 32 bit pc?

It will not, however this year there will be a 32bit Windows version as well as a 64bit Windows version.

    Hello Jim

    You mean VW 2015 still 32-bit or like c4d r13 with 2 executables in directory - CINEMA 4D.exe and CINEMA 4D 64 Bit.exe

i mean in VW 2015 directory:

    • for old windows XP 32 bit OS - Vectorworks2015 32 bit.exe
    • for newer windows 7-8.1 64 bit OS - Vectorworks2015 64 bit.exe

or only compilation of VW2015 32 bit with switch to support more RAM

  3. Hello Wouter

    Great tool!

I have question: has your tool feature to make gradient(different level between tie-in or pipes)?

Calculation of pipe dimensions based on user-input( from worksheet, symbol or manual input ).

And with my first question, will it be into table data...dynamic data(pipe network and table specification) too?

  4. Developers of Allplan 2015 made own(imho) real-time renderer(path-tracing closer), moved from c4d(i don't think that is IR renderer in c4d and somehow it was ported)

There is interesting, will VW moved to c4d r16 with new reflectance model of material, will be nice feature for engineers or metal designers, I remember Jim's chrome analysis :)

    Or made something anything

I touch only vis and view-port interactive sides of VW

  5. I am just getting into the demo of C4D, and I was wondering what C4D version does the majority of VW users use? the whole studio or Visualize?

    Cheers,

    Rob

I think it's cinerender bundle

  6. Please give me 64bit multi-process-everything VW before September...

    +1

I had project with massive landscaping for 32 hectares and modeling and positioning objects at it... loose more time with vw...sad time.

I also started work with cadline archilinexp 2014 version, it has support x64 architecture and 2 different viewport handling - openGL and directx. I combine my work in sketchup and archiline(it has direct export to skp format and cleaning features for making of low poly).

Currently have positive using of such pipeline.

  7. Hello Vladislav

    Thanks a'lot

Anyway can we use additional math/graphical libs as Numpy an etc.?

honestly i don't like such scheme*:

when a vsm, vsm, or vst runs, VW adds that folder to the python search path. So, when the scripts does 'import import ui.dlgHandler' the first thing python would do is to look for a folder 'ui' next to the vsm.

Currently pyAPI has dependence from vwvs

    * - hmm, that why i made several test project, and they did not work properly.

  8. Hello Michael

    Python works for me(win xp sp3 and 8), i download PythonSample_Menu2.

I test it(got errors), when i looked at code:

    1. i put ui* dir to site-packages dir, because natively there is not such name of class in VW pyAPI

    2. modify main(.py) fuction - this, adding execute() to end

    * - dir from sample - PythonSample_Menu2\ui\

  9. Hi to all

    Jim, thanks!

I resolve this shutdown of app, also same happens if user changes default user dir in preferences

Single solution as Run as admin does not work. Also need to switch "windows xp sp3" * compatibility mode

    * - i use it, seen that vs2005 libs during installation. Seems many companies switch to vs2012 for supporting of win8(-8.1)

    (i'm sorry for my English)

  10. I often read about sketchup here...

For example i know several architects from russian archicad forums, which used archicad for making of forms and documentation...but main modeling is in sketchup.

One of those architects wrote that archicad bim features limit his fantasy, imagination about finish of building.

I feel same with VW. It means simplicity of VW in workflow

  11. Thanks a'lot for reply.

    I understand.

I do not know for sure about Vectorworks 2015 as far as having different "flavors" for 32 and 64bit. (Even if I did I would unfortunately not be able to discuss it until it became official. No offense intended, policies and all that.)

I'm sorry for asking(i forgot about nda of vw's roadmap)

But thank you and to your team for python bindings!

(can we also use cython in it's environment?)
