  1. I'd love to be able to set the distance at which I'm nudging objects. Often I need to move things repeatedly the same amount of space, or if I don't know the exact distance I need to move an object, rather than nudging it and having no idea how far it's going to move, I'd rather set it to move 1", or 1/2" and then just move it repeatedly until it's where I want the object to be.
  2. Why not build two nurbs curves for your top and bottom rail of the swag, then rebuild nurbs to make sure they have the same number of vertices and loft surfaces?
  3. Would love to be able to number units based on a secondary criterion. 1st: Top to bottom 2nd: Left to right So if I select units that are in a grid, it'll start at the top left and do each row left to right, then move down and continue numbering, etc.
  4. When on the Shape tab of the Object Info Palette, pressing the Escape key merely deselects the field, as expected. However, when editing information in the Data tab, pressing the Escape key actually closes the window. It took me a little while to figure out why my OIP was disappearing on me all the time, until I realized I was so used to pressing Escape to leave a field that I was doing it out of habit. It seems like it should work the same in this tab as in the Shape tab.
  5. I see your koosh ball, and raise you a cute little furry monster.
  6. Could conceivably even get into modeling fur for a VW Sully!
  7. It would be great to have a master legend to set up some things like font, size and font style for labels, and then have the sub-legends apply to specific lighting instruments, etc. Right now we have to make changes in every single label legend, and if you're like me, you've got a lot of them depending on the type of unit and the direction they're facing. It takes forever to go through and update each and every label legend when you've got a style change, or realize that something doesn't quite work anymore.
  8. Agh got it. Thanks! And the example with the image is kind of an awesome example of how this can be used.
  9. This did not work for me. When I installed the program I was not prompted (or at least I don't think I was), and when I try to change the default back to 2015, once I click confirm (in Change All confirmation dialog), the dropdown menu in the Get Info dialog automatically changes back to 2016...
  10. Yeah, I can't figure this out either. I imported the grass shaders, created a simple small-ish 3d polygod and started experimenting, but it still just looked like an image fill rather than any sort of realistic 3d grass. Also, having the grass shader applied as a texture, then trying to edit the grass shader totally crashed my computer. CineRender (or whatever it's called) was freaking out in the background, and I had to quit it separately in Activity Monitor to get my computer working again. It was using 99% of my CPU even without VW open.
  11. I can't figure out exactly when this happens, but sometimes VW2015 doesn't like to compose an arc with a polyline. The kicker is that it's not all arcs, but the only way I can get around it is to trace the arc with a polyline in point on arc mode and use that instead. It doesn't happen so frequently, but when it does, it's a pain in the ass trying to do work arounds in order to connect lines. Generally I'm taking manufacturer's dwgs, importing them to VW, and cleaning them up so they're usable as symbols with fillable backgrounds. Anybody else run into this?
  12. Artistic Rendering techniques for final presentation (turning your 3d model into something that looks artfully presented - brushstrokes, etc). Advanced Modeling - Curved cloth/drapes, etc. without using image props.
  13. Up until VW 2014, Force Select used to work with a keyboard shortcut. The way I would use it was like so: Layer Options set to anything other than Show/Snap/Modify Others Class Options set to anything Click on object on another layer. Type Force Select keyboard shortcut. Now, it works the same, except I HAVE to right-click in order to do it (if I've set up a keyboard shortcut). for whatever reason, it actually makes it more difficult for me. Maybe it's lack of finger strength. I don't know, but it doesn't make sense as to why it doesn't work the way it used to, and the service select tech support guy couldn't explain it either. It would be great if it worked without having to option click, but just regular click (the same way you can click before pasting an object in order to place it close to where you want it to be).
