  1. This is probably a silly question, but in some drawings, every time I enter text, or do a dimension, they come up with a solid black fill. This happens even though the Attributes are set to no fill.

Any suggestions? Is there somewhere I don't know about that is setting this default?

    Thanks

  2. I don't know if 9 has it, but I would love to see a 'fence' option in trimming, like in AutoCad, where you can select a cutting edge, then draw a line through a number of objects, all of which will trim back to that edge. It can be a bit of a pain having to pick each object to trim if there are a lot of them!

  3. Thanks! I am using 8.5, I think. I believe I have solved the problem - the drawing I was taking the objects from had put some of the objects into a different class, which disappeared when I took it into a new drawing. Having put all the original objects into the same class, they all seem to stay put in the new drawing.

  4. I am having a strange problem, where a particular object I insert into a drawing (a titleblock) will be visible for a while, then parts of it will mysteriously disappear. They do not just go white.

I have tried inserting is a simple cut and paste, as a symbol, or as a collection of objects, and after a few commands, it happens again.

    Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

  5. I am trying to do a cut & fill DTM, and keep getting the message " The 'To' DTM must be totally enclosed by, or have the same border as, the 'From' DTM"

I have tried using the DTM user boundary thing, and this does not seem to help. Have alo tried reversing the To and From, but this doesn't seem to have any effect either.

    Any suggestions?

Even more confusing is that sometimes this message does not appear, even using exactly the same data. However, if it does not appear, and seems to be calculating the cut & fill DTM, the computer freezes. Would really appreciate some help on this one.

    Thanks.

  6. Thanks! Did finally get it to work, via much persistance and banging my head against the computer. Seems to help if you start with just two contours, then gradually add more, dong a recalculate each time.
