I am happily using the Epson 1520 with VW 9.5, but not with the OSX. I am still on OS 9.1. Your question scares me. I was about to upgrade to OSX, but now I wonder if Epson supports it. Time to go to their web site!

I am using Mac OS 9.1.1, and I am wondering if anyone out there can encourage me or discourage me regarding the performance of VWA 9.5 on OSX. I don't want to switch over unless the benefits are signifigant...speed, stability, memory? When I do switch, will there be headaches?

Yes, i am usingthe tool correctly, placing the eyedropper over the wall to pick up from,clicking, selecting the bucket from the mode bar, blacing bucket over wall to be changed, clicking...it changes the fill colour from gray to white, but no cavity lines. White screen, not black

Me too! I've been meaning to write about this. It isn't picking up wall cavities. This is an important tool for me, because I use it to convert my design walls (solid fill) to working drawings with cavities and hatches.

OK, so far so good....I created a new Field called Trim System in the Room Finish Record, it shows up on the Object Info - Data Pane when I select the Room Name ID, I enter my data but it does not appear in the column of the Worksheet. How do I link that column to the Object Data Is this all in the manual?

I want to add a "trim" column to the Room Finish Schedule. I have figured out how to modify the records available and add it to the schedule, but inputing information into the column has me perplexed. When I select my new cell for trim information, the entire column is highlighted and individual cells can not be edited. OK I says to myself, I must need to edit this information with the Room Info Tool on the Architect Pallette, but when I click on a room name ID with this tool, I do not have an entry for trim. Is there a way to add a user defined item such as Trim to the Room Info pallette? How else can I do this?

I am using this tool for the first time, and you can see my previous posts and responses earlier this week. I select a room name with the tool, and select the finishes for the catagories shown, and voila! it appears on the room finish schedule. But if I select that room name again, the dialogue box shows the VA defaults instead of what i previously selected, and when i close the Window, the settings in the Room Finish Schedule revert to the VA defaults. Is this the way the tool is supposed to behave? is the only way to view what the room finish setting are is threough the Object Info pallette, and if I want to change any single finish item in a room, I need to rest all of them? I expected the tool to do what the door or window tool does, i.e show the settings you have selected, not the defaults.

Thanks Robert...I was able to get it to return the data using your method. This opens up a whole new dimension in VW for me, though I wish it were easier to understand.

thanks doug....seems there is a lot of relearning to do with VW9. I have been using this software since MiniCad 4, but this release has me spooked Now to go try your solution!

VW9 has eliminated the leader line tool and replaced it with what? The callout tool doesn't seem to be capable of the same function. I select the callout tool, change the object bubble setting to none, select solid arrow in the marker option, delete the word "Text" from the note box....very time comsuming, and I still am not getting a two part leader line with an arrow head. Is there an obvious way that i am missing to type a note and draw and leader line without having to go thru this as yet unsuccessful process?

thanks...this seems to solve my problem. I converted the windows and doors as you described. The vertical position of them needs to be adjusted, but at least the size and horizontal parameters remained the same
