  1. strangy thing is everything else works perfectly fine like photoshop, call of duty, autocad etc. its jsut the rendering work thats making my computer to shut down. so i dont think i fried anything... altho yes that molten plastic sandwiched between the cpu chip and its cooling fan is a bit dodgy... i just did a complicated render with my coputer opened up on my desk full ventilated. and it successfully rendered it. does this mean its because of over heating??? also vw2012 is still running really slow and lags alot, takes few seconds to actually clock and draw a simple rectangle. shall i just downgrade it to 2011? because it didnt have that problem on 2011 (tho it was running on vista ultimate 32bits then. i have now upgraded to window7 and vw2012) thanks for your help guys much appreciated. keep them coming please!!
  2. hi oh i really hope thats not the cause of the problem.... i really dont know anything about computer n computer hardware.... i jsut sort of opened the computer up and hoovered out all the dust, someone said it might be due to over heating how do i test and dignose which hardware is the cause of the problem?? also when it shuts down it just shuts down all of a sudden. no blue screen or not responding. just shuts down in mid-render ps when i was hoovering the computer i pulled out big fan on the mother board (not quite sure what it is so ill describe it, it was a 6cm x 6cm fan on motherboard and i lifted it up to suck out all the dust and underneath that fan theres a silver chip thingy which i think is the processor. and in between that chip and the underside of the fan theres some weird grey stuff which looks like a thin layer of plastic is melted there.... thanks for your help
  3. hi i was wondering if anyone can help recently my vectorwork rendering starts to malfunctioning whenever i try render bitmap it will sometimes render fine but some other times eventho im rendering the same thing it rendered well before it will just shut down the computer. im not sure whats wrong with it, the file doesnt seem to be corrupt, as i tested if other computers can render (took the file to uni and rendered it on the uni computers and they all rendered fine) i ve just formatted my computer and reinstalled window and new version of vectorwok (2012) and its still having the sam problem of pc switching itself off in mid render. also vectorworks running really slow and jittery as well every single action happens few seconds after will be great if you guys could help. spec for my compouter window7 proffesional amd phenom 9550 quad core processor 2.20ghz 4gb ram 64 bit operating system uses vectorworks 2012

  5. ive uploaded my file thats having the problem thanks
  6. hi thanks for the help again i jsut had a go at creating mesh with nurbs but it wouldnt let me extrude it out or have a thickeness or render texture on to it the mesh im trying to make is a copper mesh which will be put over a arch so it needs to bend as well. any suggestion?? so for keep bothering you but thanks so much
  7. hi thank you so much for the help and the attatchment but ive never used a nerbs curve before ( im really confused about the honeycomb mesh on the little structure i cant find any solid or plane that containes this it only seem to appear when i render is this created useing nerbs??
  8. hi im trying to make a make a model of copper mesh im not sure how to creat a mesh so i went about doing it in a primative way i know(prob not a good way) i created roads of solid bars and cress crossed it at 45 degree then tried to add solid so that it becomes a one piece but vectorwork kept crasehd when i was doing it. so instead of add solid i selected all the bars and then clicked 'convert to mesh' (it had a word mesh in it so i thought why not) and it worked. now i need to take a chunk out of the mesh i created i tried using subtrat solids and split tool but again vectowroks keep crashing whenever i try. how should i go about taking a bits out of the mesh i created and is there a better way of creating a mesh??? thank you very much
  9. ok so i realised the vectorwork is actually working fine as i can work on other files but this spesific file. so i thought this file is corrupted so i copy and pasted some basic outlines frm the corrupted file and created a new one and drew the whole thing out again and deleted the pasted basic outlines. but still keep freezing. ive narrowed it down to this tho whenever i try to create a tube by exturde along path vectorworks tend to freeze and also when i tried to draw a line over the already somehow draw tube it tends to freeze. all the other stuff works fine, even on the corrupted file as long as i dont touch or go anywhere near any tube shapes. only problem is i need to draw alot of tubes for this 3d modelling im doing..... not sure how to fix this.....sounds like a ridiculous problem....
  10. HI im suddenly having problem with vectorworks keep shutting itself off saying out of memory. it works fine for the first couple of minute and then it jsut crashes. (not even doing anything complicated. it wont even let me draw a simple line ) tried to update to servicepack 3 thinking it might solve the problem but keep having error updating as well...... ive never had this kind of problem with vectorworks not sure whats going on... heres my computers spec -window vista ultimate -AMD Phenom9550 quad-core processor 2.20GHz -4.00GB RAM
