  1. http://www.cgarchitect.com/ has some promotional renderings and movies...
  2. Curious, I noticed some VW posts on DeviantArt, and Renderosity ...so where do some of you folks post renderings for comments? Correction It seems that Renderosity does not have a VW specific Gallery Though Flickr has a VW Group
  3. So a remote viewport of the building can be ovelapped with your viewport of your site plan for a combined rendering?
  4. Here's another one that I can answer... Its not easy for Noobs like us, but it can be done Once the leader line or Call Out has been placed, its marker can be modified from the bottom of Attributes palette w/ the Line Endpoint Style drop down that takes you to the Marker List where you can Edit Marker List and customize the set of markers. From the Edit Marker List dialog box, click New to create a new marker type, or click Edit to change the currently selected marker type. HTH
  5. OK Thanks for the tip I'll probably need to figure how to "Reference this on the site plan through viewports" though.
  6. Greetings As a general inquiry from one who does both 3d site plans and architectural models... Which is the preferred method when is doing a project with both? Namely, does one draw up a 3d house model separately, then draw a massing model on the 3d site plan? I know from past experience using ArchiCAD, that having it all on one really surpassed the capabily of the RAM to handle it. So I had to have a building shell devoid of any interior placed on the site model Can one then insert a 3d building shell model as a symbol on the site plan like an XREF? Then when they make design changes to that shell they will automatically update? Thanks
  7. Waldo This is one that I can answer. one would need to 1 draw a line(1) center to center of the 3 circles 2 and then another line from center of circle to midpoint of the opposing large tangent line(1) 3 draw lines(3) from the intersection of the outside lines (1) with the circles 3 move or copy line(3) out to and snap to the intersection of lines (2&3) draw circle tan to those last 3 lines Like the attached HTH
  8. Eric Thanks for helping out I tried Texture bed Modifier the first time, but the Hardscape disappears, though remains active in the Object Info, and the render tab says 'Cannot apply texture to object'. even after Updating the mesh it does not show rendered Thats why I switched to 'Slab' I tried both 'Send to Surface' and not
  9. Eric I can get the textures to show on the hardscapes as slabs sent to the Surface O.K. Its just the slabs are flat and disappear inder neath the higher areas. I am trying to get it to follow the surface of the mesh
  10. I was able to get my site model to generate properly by elevating all the 2d components and hardscapes etc. up to the lowest elevation point above sea level (276.46m)(thanks Tamsin) Now I can't seem to get the asphalt hardscape to show itself as a texture following the surface of the site model... the various 3d options for the hardscape don't seem to address that(AFAK) It doesn't seem to matter If I Send to Surface and Update the surface either I find this prog very difficult as I am from the ArchiCAD school of thought for the last 6 years
  11. I hear what you're saying... It may be advantagous to raise the ground level design layer up to the respective elevation point ASL, and the design layer the building is on down to its point above sea level ... Thanks
  12. I suppose I could just live with it and subtract the value of the Lower floor level elevation point from each of the elevation points, lowering the whole site model respective down to that level instead of sea level
  13. I suppose I could just live with it and cover over the microscopic Drawing No. with a text lable...
  14. Hellow again I have a similar problem accessing the Section Line Drawing # Text size. One can access the Text Sheet % field, but there is none for the Drawing # I always work in 1:1 so need to work with larger text sive for the model space annotations.
  15. Thanks all for responding, it is very helpful
  16. Greetings I'm slowly starting to get the hang of some of this different then what I'm used to program (VW11), having just now started on my first whole project with it. I need to show the existing (Church) building on the 3d site plan to examine the steep grade change for optimum new addition placement. I obtained the existing site with the elevation points as a scanned document The site plan is now drawn with the plot lines and hardscapes and manually entered 3d stake objects etc. The problem is the elevation points are in metres above sea level (256), and the plan is down at z=-6" What is the best way to resolve the present quandry so that the building FP is at the right spot elevation and the property line follows the respective terrain? Is it better to make the 2d DTM then add the 3d stake objests? I will try to show some images as soon as i figure out how
  17. Greetings I an working in 1:1 scale an the Space Lables are only dots I was able to do it with a section marker, but can't find how to change the Space Lable Text Size or even scale the lable. Is there anyway to increase thr size of the marker and or text? thanks Craig D.S.
  18. Hi there some how the help folder got disassociated from the Help command in my VW 2011 SP4 and will no longer launch. Is there a way to re-associate? Thanks Craig
  19. Yes, thanks. I did consider it, but as the trial version is about to expire and I am about to buy Designer...didn't think that it was worth all that reinstall and update to Sp2 & Sp3. I thought or was hoping that there was a separate down-loadable Help file that i could temporary use for reference...I am going through the getting started guides...jut cant access Help...
  20. Then, can anyone at least direct me to to where I can obtain the VWHelp file contents that are supposed to be in the VWHelp folder? Am I the only one that has had the VWHelp folder go missing??
  21. Greetings I need to replace my ArchiCAD 2004 on my w2k box, and am trying VW designer. I noticed after installing that there was an additional folder for VWHelp. After lanching help the first time I received a message to update Adobe Air, which I did and closed Help Not sure what happened exactly, but I did upgrade the DL version with the SP2 and SP3. Now my help folder id gone And I get the attached error...oops don't know how to upload...so I'll type it... "The VWHelp Folder may be missing or contain invalid data. Please contact technical support for assistance" Any direction on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Craig
