  1. I just discovered the issue. My hanging positions are on a different layer than the lighting devices. I have show/snap others selected for layer options. In that setting, the lighting device snaps to the hanging position, and the hanging position auto-fills in the OIP. So I assumed it's snapping to the hanging position. But, it still doesn't take the height. When I change to show/snap/modify others, the hanging position turns red when hovering on it, and the lighting device takes the height of the hanging position. I rarely work in show/snap/modify others mode. Is there a way to have the lighting device take the height of the position without being in show/snap/modify others layer option?
  2. Thanks for the suggestion. Those were checked, so I don't think that's the problem.
  3. If I remember correctly, in past versions, when I insert a lighting device and it snaps to a hanging position, the lighting device automatically takes the height of the hanging position. That doesn't seem to be happening in 2022. Am I remembering correctly that it did it in past versions? Am I doing something wrong that it's no longer doing that in 2022? Is there a setting for that somewhere?
  4. Nevermind. I just saved the XML file to a different folder from where the VW file is and it worked with no problem.
  5. I've been trying to use data exchange. I start it in VW, then go to LW to start data exchange there with a new file. Every time I choose the xml file it tells me the xml file is invalid. Does anybody know why that might happen? I am using VW 2009 on a mac, but it's a Windows version of VW with Parallels 5. LW is on Mac. I downloaded LW for windows and used that through Parallels with the same result. I sent the file to somebody with all Windows, and she was able to make it work with no problem. Thanks.
