  1. Hello. I am still new to VW and I cant figure out how to do something. I have tried but nothing seems to do what I need. I have a 3D platform I created from new and I need to cut some extrusions where they intersect with another extrusion. This is so I can delete the section between them. (see picture) The extrusions were made with a spline and a rectangle followed by an extrude along path command. The reason it was drawn this way was because this platform has a duplicate facing it that actually needs all the bits in place so I thought it would be easier to make the more complex one and then make a copy and then cut and delete the sections I dont need. Hopefully someone can help point me in the right direction. VW file is 2011. Thanks in advance.
  2. 3D files from the Martin website here: Martin Support - MAC 101 Drawings They are a bit line heavy as they are from the manufacturing drawings. I currently use the ESP vision 3 symbols. They have a MAC 101 in there. I have included a VW drawing with both the ESP 101 symbols in it. Hope it helps.
  3. So SP3 fixed this but I still see some odd behaviour and dont know if it is normal or not as I am very new to VW. The Space Navigator works as expected in TOP/PLAN view but when in any other 2D view any movement of the Navigator turns the view to a custom 3D view. This is really annoying as I want to be able to zoom in and pan around my 2D views. Another thing that is odd is that in the Isometric views I cannot zoom in/out or pan using the navigator. I have been through the set up of the space navigator and all seems correct so I dont know what do do. Any help would be much appreciated.
  4. I have the exact same issue. I am running the same setup as you too. I know that does not help you, but at least you are not alone
  5. Thanks bcd! At least I know I am not going crazy now. This behaviour does seem a little odd to me though. I realise that people will want to include objects in the templates they create but I know I will end up adding classes and layers the more I progress and to update my template I will then have to delete any thing I currently have in that drawing....or "save as" then delete all objects then "save as template" and then go back to my original drawing. I guess I wont be adding to my template forever though so maybe it is just in these early stages that I will find it a little frustrating. Maybe it would be nice for an option in "save as template" to either include or not include any objects in your drawing. Thanks again for your help.
  6. I seem to be having trouble with templates. I am in the process of creating a new one I intend to work from with every new drawing I do. The problem I am having is that when I "save as template" it seems to be saving any objects that are in the current drawing too. Reading the user guide it states: "Save a drawing file as a template to use it as a foundation for new files. Templates save layers, classes, title blocks, sheet borders, resources, and the current settings for attributes and units." The way I read this is that no objects should be saved with the template file. Am I missing something very obvious? Any help much appreciated as I am just starting to learn VW.
  7. I just purchased VW Spotlight 2011 and I am trying to get my Space Navigator to work too with no luck. I thought it was supported and when I could not get it to work I came across this post. It will be a great shame if this is not fixed as it is a device that once you start using is difficult to live without when doing any sort of 2D/3D work.
