  1. I always wondered if a multi core machine could be developed that had instead of additional "efficiency cores" it had an overclocked or hi speed core.
  2. When I create an orbit path animation, after a few frames in the preview window the image appears to have a great film over the window. When the animation is complete the grey film as and undesirable part of the animation. I don't know what's causing it. HJC movie.mov
  3. Im running VW2022 on a 2017 4.2 iMac running Monterey. No issues at all. Quite snappy actually.
  4. this issue has annoyed me for years
  5. Small New York high-end residential firm seeks strong candidate for a position. Applicant must have strong design and computer skills (Vectorworks Twinmotion). This a mostly in person position but there will be partial remote work as well. This is a great opportunity for growth and design. If you are interested, send resume to andrew@cityarchitect.com in the subject write “Position-<your name>”
  6. For some reason the VW 2022 Updater keeps disappearing from my VW folder. Without that app, VW thinks I'm up to date when I'm not. So far the only way I've found to get it back is to download the whole program to the desktop, take out the updater and trash the rest of the file. There has to be a better way and why does this keep happening?
  7. I haven't had any real problematic issues using 2022 on Big Sur. I'm not planning to upgrade the MacOS because of a number of software incompatibilities. I do use terrain modeling. I try not to be bleeding edge anymore.
  8. Import pdf's into VW and snap to geometry. works very well.
  9. Actually "update all viewports" works fine on my intel Macs on VW2021 and 2022. This problem seems to be Monterey and apple silicon.
  10. This is a pretty big issue. On my 2015 i7 intel iMac, I hit update all viewports and get coffee. When I return I can look at my whole drawing set. Speeding this process would be a significant reason to look at upgrading to an M1pro/max. If that crashes the machine, we found the weak link in the upgrade path.
  11. Its a good idea to wait a bit. Check in on this board to see if anyone reports problems.
  12. Sometimes when I have vw 2021 and vw 2022 open, I get sudden memory usage jumps. I'm running an iMac Pro with 32 gigs HDD. The available memory goes from 13-16 Gigs to 1-2 gigs. Has anyone seen and memory issues with 2022?
  13. Twinmotion has announced that a perpetual license will be free to all VW users. When I went to follow through with claiming the license, the site asked for a code. I don't know what that code might be. I tried my VW 2022 License # but that didn't work. Does anybody have any thoughts?
  14. I'm seeing great improvement to the Open GL speed! Running on a 2017 iMac 4.2 GHz i7 w Radon Pro 580 8GB
  15. Hey Kevin. Are you giving 2022 a test drive?
  16. I'm missing my teaser Tuesdays. Lets see something newly proposed demonstrated.
  17. I will add an anecdote similar to Hans-Olav's above. I moved to a new office and needed to buy a second Mac. I bought a 2019 4.2 GHZ 27" iMac. Since VW is mostly single core the faster CPU clock makes that machine faster than my iMac Pro. I find that for most CAD work it is faster but still the open GL work, Renderworks and Twinmotion operations are faster the iMac Pro but not by much. If you are waiting on an M1X/M2 iMac 27 you would do well to save a few dollars and buy a used iMac 27 with the highest clock speed and best GPU you can find.
  18. I do it all the time, its quite seamless.
  19. Thats been my machine too since they first came out except I have the Vega 64 card. I think you'll find the video card really boosts the open GL work compared to a MacBook. The fan rarely comes on except during renderworks redraws but its not very loud because the of the dual fans. I've been very happy with the machine. Also, thank you for your excellent tutorials, They've really been a help to me.
  20. I have a 1st Gen iMac Pro. 3.2 GHZ 8-core Wenn W, 32GB Ram, Radeon Pro Vega 64 w 16 GB Vid Ram. I'm just pointing out that the 2017 iMac runs VW noticeably faster than my Mac Pro. I 'm putting this info out just as an FYI.
  21. This is just a general information comment. I have been running VW2021 on my iMac Pro for a while. No complaints. I just moved to a new office and needed a new machine for that office. I bought a used 2017 i7 4.2 27" iMac with 580 Graphics card and 64gig RAM for less then a new iMac m1. The computer runs VW noticeably faster than my iMac Pro. Go figure. I guess GHZ is all that matters. Even the open GL work and custom renderworks are equal.
  22. I too have had the overly bumped textures in TM (VW2021-Datasmith-TM V2021.1) But it doesn't happen to all textures, only to the textures that I created where I have a bump texture. I removed the bump from the texture reimported the file and the problem was gone.
  23. No. VW20 & 21 use a new system of making animations. Its great but doesn't have the simplicity and ease of use of the old VW19 and before rotated around selection (w/preview) window for creating animations.
  24. I still miss being able to quickly set up a rotation animation based on the view I'm working with. This feature in VW 2019 and before was super easy. I don't know if there is any way this workflow could be duplicated or better yet, brought back.
  25. I guess you keep all the site work (pad modifiers, roads, paths, driveways, etc) in the Site File? I have this same issue but 1/2 acre lots.
