  1. Has anyone been able auto-populate the Room Finish Legend to a Live Worksheet?

I'd prefer not to re-generate this every time we issue a drawing set.

Ideally the worksheet would identify all unique Finish in one column and their corresponding Description in the second Column (regardless of whether they are Wall or Ceiling or Base materials. For example:

    FINISH    DESCRIPTION

    GWB-1:     5/8" Gypsum Wallboard.

    WD-1:       Painted Poplar T&G, 3/4" x 5".

  2. Two wall tool requests.

    Walls from Polylines:

I would like to have custom Walls that can be generated from a closed poly-line (as opposed to the wall tool that uses two-point "lines")

We work with concrete on a lot of our projects and the workaround to make varying thickness or shaped walls is very cumbersome. I can see a simple wall tool edit that can generate shape from a poly-line OR a wall component that can have a "Taper/Shaped/Custom Outline" in the dialogue similar to tapered slab components to generate the geometry.

    "Free-Standing" Wall Components

Free-standing wall components that can "glue-on" to walls. For example, if one room of a project has wood slats on furring strips, I'd have to make a wall type for each wall (exterior, interior, bathroom plumbing walls, that ALSO have furring strips on the side face that room). But I'd rather create a wall that has wood slats and furring strips only and apply it only to the walls facing that room. I would do this with tile, interior finishes, etc as well. Basically, re-orient how VW thinks of wall assemblies to align to how real-world assemblies are realized.

  3. I would like to have an option where VW appends a prefix- or -suffix to classes at export.
We export DWG to coordinate with consultants. Since they don't have a Class/Layer setup, things get very complicated very fast.

For walls on the in VW are on

    Class: A-Wall

& Layer: 1st Floor Plan or 2nd Floor Plan

In AutoCAD that wall would end up on:

Layer: A-Wall (stacked on top of each other)

I would prefer to append the AutoCAD so the walls end up on:

    Layer: A-Wall-1st Floor Plan

    Layer: A-Wall-2nd Floor Plan

or some version of that. And the same for Plumbing fixtures & Doors & Windows, etc.

  4. Has this changed since 2012?

I like to use tree symbols and scale them. Our local reg's dictate how close you can build near "protected" trees and I like to scale the symbol based on the formula dictated by the city (and then I populate the required tree table based on these symbols) BUT, I have to manually enter data (tree diameter) because I can auto-populate the symbol scaling factor...

  5. Stairs should allow you to pick from all designated levels, not just "[Story Above]"

    Could be separate Selections

    Top Bound:

    1. Select Story:
    2. Select Level:
    3. Top Offset:

On mult-level or split level structures, "Story Above" can be quite limiting.

  6. VectorMove is/was awesome. It was doing this before VW caught up... I also like the VectorStretch, which VW has not imitated yet...

If Manuel is no longer writing VB plugins, VW should buy up his tools immediately...
