  1. I am currently investigating the referenced files for my future workflow, and I came across a small problem. Let's say the venue, including the fixed lighting positions, is in a separate file. In my light plot file I create a reference to the venue file (the viewport method). If I try adding light instruments to my light plot they are created with a Z: 0. The positions are correctly created (at the right height), and lights are attaching to them if they are in the same document. The layers are Show/Snap and classes are Show/Snap/Modify. Also the positions are not grouped. These are the 3 requirements for the auto positioning which is turned on in Spotlight Preferences. But for some reason it only works if lights and instruments are in the same file, but not with referenced files. It also does not work if lights and positions are in the same file but the positions are in a viewport placed on the light plot layer. Is this something not implemented yet or am I missing something? Thank you. PS: I am currently using VW Spotlight 2014 (SP5), but I have tried this in 2015 as well.
  2. Thank you, that is indeed much better.
  3. In the download section for Student/Faculty there is only one option (the default content). Is the full content option not up yet, or is it dropped completely from now on?
  4. When trying to update my account, one of the required fields is disabled, which makes it impossible to save the changes. The HTML option tag that lists the State (class="presented profile state list required") has "display: none", thus it is invisible on the rendered page. The State/Region/Province string is available but is optional, and does not influence the submit action.
  5. I completely deleted all the preferences and settings files, and created another workspace, and now it works.
  6. It doesn't matter the view I'm in or render mode or workspace. It's a standard symbol created with Focus Point Tool. It also doesn't matter if I select hybrid or another custom shape.
  7. I discovered something very odd in VW 2011 SP1. Whenever I select a focus point the object info palette is constantly refreshing. It's like selecting and deselecting it every second. The only way to modify the settings for focus points is to right click them and select properties.
  8. Apparently yes... And backwards compatibility is one of my main concerns, because I use both 2009 and 2011 and also both Windows and Mac. But this is a minor bug, so no harm done. I will try to submit this as a bug report but for the moment I do not have the time to provide all that information requested.
  9. Thank you so much, it works. I don't have time now, but I will submit this bug soon.
  10. This is a file created and saved in 2010. It is stripped down of content, but I kept all classes and layers. Try to open this file with VW 2011 directly, and just select the line and give it a length of 2. In my case it modifies angle and length inconsistent with what I just typed. Not to mention those leader lines, which I have no idea where they came from. Now on the other hand, when I tried to create a blank default document in 2010, in order to post it here, I discovered that when I opened it in VW 2011 it works just fine. So I think it's just a class or layer setting, broken from one version to another. I would like to track exactly which though, because I have all my files with all kind of classes and symbols, and I would hate to have to create those all over again. Thank you, and I hope you can help me figure this out.
  11. I've just upgraded from 2010 to 2011 and I ran into the following problem: whenever I open an older file (from 2010 or 2009 version) in 2011 the line tool is acting funny. I create a line as usual, and if I want to modify it's length (to let's say 8"), the entire line becomes much longer and in a different angle (relative to some unknown point). Can someone help me with this issue, Thank you in advance.
