  1. Hi guys,

I've always had a little trouble with this. I've made my ref. view port, but I'm not able to find the plan in the view port... I'm usually able to track it down, but this time I can't. How do I avoid this,

    Thanks

  2. Slightly off topic,

I've been trying to find a post that laid out a 3d workflow with vectorworks, but have been unsuccessful.

I know they're a bunch of different methods and I'm interested in seeing them.

The one I've been trying to find was only doing the roofing sheathing in 3d... every other part was an extrude. Ring a bell?

Also, revit looks to be around 5700 msrp and up if you were interested

  3. Revit sounds great for large projects that have many people/trades involved. It should be (if not already) the standard for that scale of work.

My history with Vectorworks (which is brief compared to some of you!) is that only contractors, small and sometimes medium sized firms use it... yes, because of the cost. But it works.

Do you guys feel that vectorworks progression has become minimal?

I think over the next few years they'll figure it out..

  4. I have no problems opening the file. When I export and send it back the problems begin.

I think the file may have gone thru 2012, exported to 2010 (the version I have) and then from there to 2008... I'm thinking if that's the case... its also the problem?

I've tried exporting it twice, but he gets the same message.

  5. Anyone ever get this message?

"This file is damaged. It will open with as much data as possible"

I'm working on 2010 and I've exported it as a 2008 file to be opened on the other end. When imported they are getting that message. The file opens, but is scrambled and missing lots of information.

Any thoughts as what could be causing this?

    Thanks,

  6. I'll look for that book.

Does anyone own the 11th edition of the Architectural Graphic Standards? I've read it wasn't as informal as the 10th addition? Trying to find a copy of the 10th edition is pretty challenging though... well there are copies, but really expensive ones. Is it worth my while to hunt down the 10th edition?
