  1. Hi, I am using vect. 2010 and I need to show for each room the total surface area. I drew different rectangles and merge them to have the correct shape. I see as property of my rectangle the total area surface on the property window. Is there a way to show that property on my draw? Thank you in advance. Nic

  5. Hi, I'd like to buy a graphic tablet to use with vectorworks. Tablet is a complete new world for me. Consequently I'd like to receive some opinions by current users and theirs experiences (is it useful? how about productivity?). Are all tablets compatible with vectorworks? Please answer to this post. Thank you, Nicola
  6. Hi, with quote, I mean to show how long is a side (ex. 3,45 cm). Sorry for my english, but I don't know the english word
  7. I use vectorworks basic 2010.
  8. Hi, trivial newbie question? Can't I quote a 3d draw? I tried to draw a cube and quote one of its side, but when I rotate the draw, the quote doesn't rotate with the cube. Thank you, Nicola

  11. Hi, I'd like to display the scale of each viewport. I found a "draw identifier" command to show info about viewport (see attached image). I work good (if I change my viewport's scale, it changes its value), but I just need the text, not the circle and the line. But if I ungroup the "draw identifier", I lose info on the scale (if I change it, it doesn't display the correct value). Do you have any suggestion to have a text showing the viewport scale and linking it to viewport modification? thank you, Nicola
  12. Hi, I am using vectorworks2010 basic. I need to modify an attribute to a category (line thickness) and apply that to all existent object associated to that category. But When I apply my modification, it is not applied to all the category objects. Any suggestions, please? thank you , Nicola
  13. It's my basic version. Probably you have Designer. I cannot create the pipe run. I don't have it in my menus. nb
  14. Hi, thank you for the file. I can see the sheet and the Pipeline Run object, but I cannot create or modify. I have vectorworks 2010 basic and think that this feature is in another version. Anyway now I know it exists. Maybe I can create a script to calculate what I need. Thank you Nicola
  15. Hi, I cannot figure out how to select an object in background. Example: I have a rectangle A in foreground and a smaller rectangle B in background. A cover entirely B. If I go over with the mouse where B lays, I see its border in gray with a discontinued line. But I cannot select it. If I want to have my B in foreground I need to select A and put it in background. With many object I need to select the hidden object directly. Any suggestions, please? Thank you Nicola
  16. Hi, your attachment is not visible with my version 2010 sp4.
  17. Hi, I am setting up my first worksheet inside a draw. The subject of my draw is a piping and my worksheet should resume the quantity of material in that way: Pipe Diameter Length Pipe and diameter are attributes, but length should be a property calculated. How can I create a calculated property to a schedule, please? Thank you, Nicola
  18. Hi, in the attached file I show the very simple work I need to draw. I am drawing in 2D using vectorwork 2010 basic. What I wanted to do was: - draw the inner perimeter (lines+arc) - do an offset - fill the outer figure - add a rectangle where there's the opening Is this the correct (best practice) way to draw my attached file? Thank you Nicola
  19. Hi, using vect. 2010 basic I am trying to draw a flat: what the best way to set a point for a wall? I know that a 10 meters wall has a connection at the 4th meter. I thought that with the tool "measure" I could measure 4 meters and set a point to be use as start point for the other wall? Could you please suggest me how to measure and set a point? thank you nicola
  20. Hi! First of all I want to apologize for the possible incorrect terms I may use here, because my version of Vectorworks 2010 is not in english but italian, and so I am not sure of the english terms. I have problems with my first presentation to print. I created 3 layers: 1. a 2d plot with a frame containing info 2. a detail of a part of the plot 3. a 3D plot seen as perspective (I rotated it as I want to see) To print it I created a viewport and I activated all 3 layers. This viewport is contained in a presentation layer. But when I activate the presentation layer, my 3d plot is not seen rotated as I want, but it's seen from the top as 2d plot. I tried to manipulate different viewport's options, but with no result. So i ask for some advices, please. Thank you Nicola
