  1. How do some of you draw roads? I used lines & arcs to draw the centerline, then the offset tool to either side of center. I then had to go back and finesse where my lines & arcs either did not join or where they intersected at their ends. Is it easier to draw first one side of the road, then the other? Are there other tools I should think of using. Thanks for any input at all.
  2. I am also a contractor that now has a few good years into learning VW. I also recommend to use as many resources as possible. I went to those expensive seminars, read manuals in coffee shops before work, & studied 3rd party resources like Janis Kent. (I would only use resources that apply to the VW version that you are using to avoid confusion!) Reading the tech board is a great resource. The words will make sense later, just keep exposing yourself. Go to a local user group if possible. Then start drawing details that will help you thru a job. Once you get a feel for it, make a commitment to draw a set of blueprints. Nothing speeds up learning like a little pressure. You can only learn by doing it. But make sure to give yourself some time; it is very slow at first but will soon pick up speed. If you plan on getting older and less physically able, this is a great way to communicate your hard earned building experience to others less fortunate!
  3. From time to time I use Vectorworks Help and it is no longer there. I click help and Acrobat Reader opens but no help! HELP!
  4. I can't print a 30K drawing on a letter size sheet of paper. I use VW 8.0, Power Mac 7500 upgraded to G3 (powerlogic), 176 RAM. My Stylewriter 2500 prints 85% of the drawing, then says "not enough memory." I've given VW 70,000k, and my printer 40,000k and still no results. I've printed drawings legal and letter size much more complex. Different sheets from this same file have also printed normally. All other software prints fine. Any solutions? Thanks.
