  1. Vision Emissive Drop Down menus. For example, Emissive > Fixture type has no drop-down menu, so users have to know what to type in that field.
  2. Keep last used settings in Vision or a user preset for the "Root" to keep its settings.
  3. Easy way to get a Vision Render onto a sheet layer in Vectorworks.
  4. Auto DMX Address & DMX Universe population based upon “Univ/Address” entry in Address field.... This would be useful to see how many channels are needed for a lighting position before patching that lighting position.
  5. Channel Qty column and/or dmx attribute breakdown chart or pane in Lighting Object Fixture Mode window. For example, if a Lighting Object is 3ch... is it HSI? Or RGB? Or neither?
  6. VWX Lighting Object Fixture Mode Search for a quicker way to find fixtures than the currently used tree structure.
  7. Can we have a tool that inserts a Table of Contents on a sheet layer? In an ideal world, it would poll sheet numbers and sheet titles from the other pages.
  8. I'd like to request a plugin tool to create cable swags. Sometimes you want to show the crew where their cable swags should drop off. Step 1: draw a line Step 2: choose the start height and end height. Step 3: choose how much swag or droop to have Optional: Maybe the tool can calculate how much cable is in that run.
  9. Someone on the team probably can make a festoon / bistro lighting tool/plugin. Step 1: draw a polyline Step 2: choose how much vertical swag to use OR the difference between the start and end heights Step 3: choose what symbol to use for the bulbs Step 4: choose the interval at which bulbs appear. Maybe default to every 2ft?
  10. I would like to request a feature that allows lighting instrument info to also show up in non-top-plan views. Let's say I have a column of lighting objects 1 row wide on the X axis, and 3 columns high on the Z axis. When I show the lighting info on a top plan, the info for the fixtures just stack on top each other; it's unreadable. If I move the text around, it's impossible to tell what text relates to which fixture in the stacking order. So if I switch to a front view, I can now see all the fixtures, but none of the text shows up.
  11. This file has a LOT of seats (3483). I'll do a test. Thanks, Michael!
  12. Are VWX files that are watermarked with "Vectorworks Educational Version" slower than non-watermarked files? I usually don't have any problems with small files (this one is 13.3mb). I've got 22gb of RAM and a 4gb GPU, but I've got a file that's watermarked, and it just seems slow as hell-- even when I've got no PDF's or classes/layers on that have a lot of points. What gives?
  13. Chris, the quote was a comment on a small indoor gig, so I'm not sure what the relation is to this topic. If you still want to know what I meant by my comment, please read on: We all know that in production, things don't always happen the way we planned them to, but we make the best out of the situation and keep things in mind for the next gig. I know the heading says "engineer", but it appears MIG could use some drafting help. Having worked briefly on different gigs in the same ballroom with a couple of standup guys with MIG, I thought it would be nice to reach out-- especially if they're looking for a draftsman. Have I ever done something to you I don't know about?
  14. Hey Douglas, I just sent an email from allan@allannathan.com.

  16. Keep your hybrid symbol as a hybrid. Just convert it to an instrument THEN set 3d orientation. 1) select your speaker 2) spotlight>object conversion> convert to instrument 3) in your object info palette, scroll down to the bottom and check "Set 3d Orientation" 4) play around with your X Rotation and Y rotation values 5) do your happy dance
  17. I keep getting a vectorscript error "Error:_3246X-Index outside array limits." box when I try to generate worksheets. How do I fix this?
