I cannot get onto Online Help. The message is, "An error occurred while opening the help system" "The VWHelp' may be missing or contain invalid data. Please contact technical support for assistance." If I try reloading the original Adobe Air help system from the disk, that also fails. How can I get back Online Help? VWA2010 thank you Paul

The site model will not render in 3D contour option. All other options render in open GL. Can someone explain please

The elevation is achieved by going to mod 3d/ show snap modify others. Then convert copy to lines/ hidden line rendering. The elevations show lines in the roof that shold be hidden. why are they visible please? Also the gable is 150mm (the roof thickness) and should be 100 mm (the wall thickness). How to correct please?

when I edit the group made of three roofs the new roof lines should (pic1) show. There is no change, the three originals are still visible.(pic2) what am I missing please? Paul

I have started from the beginning and resolved these problems. one just needs to persevere.

I have placed and selected recession planes and attempted to send them to the surface. AEC/terrain/send to surface. I am asked to select which site model. There should be only one, Site Model but VW named this one site model 1. The dialogue box asks for site model update which I do in obj. info box. Then the same cycle repeats, model is not ready, "update' etc. is it something to do with there being (apparently) two site models? advice please? thanks Paul

I have followed the exercise to create the Site Model but the contours, major and minor and 3D contours are not showing. I have tried this a few times and followed the instructions. What am I missing? Can you help please? Paul

Thank you Jonathon, the 3D loci were turned off in the preferences. I have progressed with the model but the contours arent showing in the terrain model. I seem to have the settings correct. There is a loci on visible on the 3D model that shows as property line in object info. I cant seem to show the contours? suggestions appreciated thank you Paul

I have started the exercise, VWA Tutorial Manual (J Pickup) When I go through the section to create the site model the 3d loci do not appear. I have reduced this to a simple exercise and still no result. I have: 1 created three contours in a file with just one design layer. they are polygons of five vertices each, confirmed in object info. 2)go to AEC survey input/ 2D polys to 3D contours 3) dialogue box: start elevation 1000 interval 1000 create 3D loci OK 4) set elevation (as input previously) press next/next/next " would you like to delete your original 2D polygons?" Yes the page is blank why can I not see or why aren't there any (15) 3D loci visible on the page please? I also tried to place 3D loci using the 3D loci tool, randomly on the page to no avail. In exercise 5 of VWA Getting Started I am trying to ' apply geometric constraint to walls' When I use Constrain Colinear tool and click on the a) second floor wall and then b) the Ist floor wall the wall does not move. It remains in the (stretched ) position. I have done this exercise before without problem. assistance please? Paul

When I try to "verify connections" the wall moves. I have selected 2D/ Enable connected wall mode but do not get the box as shown in fig 4 in drawing connected wall. The wall move. I don't think that this is intended. Is it intended to get the wall dimensions from the figure in EX 3? it has to be zoomed considerably to read this. In the 2009 Getting Started the dimensions where given clearly?

I had the same problem. there are midpoints on each line int and ext and one in the centre. when I selected the wall centre midpoint on each wall it worked I can not get the verify wall connection to work. I dont get a box as shown in figure 4. The wall moves when I do that. Any suggestions please?

It was purchased for mac. There is only one install icon in the disk folder. thanks prp
