  1. Another good point. Design layers should always be 1:1. Why add LOD functionality to a legacy feature?
  2. @Matt Panzer of Camera Match fame? That's great - Matt helped me a lot when I first started using Camera Match a few years ago.
  3. Well put line-weight. I am particularly interested in questions 2 and 6.
  4. This looks interesting - may take quite a bit of getting used to though. Does it replace Auto Hybrids? Need to digest it a little more - but my initial reaction is that it's quite complicated. Symbols in VWX are already convoluted (2D/3D/Auto Hybrid etc) - am worried this adds a layer of complexity? I can imagine a few instances of looking at a viewport and wondering why something isn't showing - to later realise it is due to the level of detail. Another thing to worry about? I can certainly see how it can help rendering. I currently spend a lot of time flicking between different render modes to get the look I want - but often find I need to compromise. This may solve that. But it does look like it's going to take some getting used to. Andrew
  5. It's worth it - if anything for the comedy value of watching the cleaners potter around in the background!
  6. The bar has been set high for this week after Jim's will comments during the Facebook Live last week! Something to do with symbols - good for architects? Intriguing...
  7. I love Tuesdays just before a VWX launch!
  8. Great answer Pat - Also worth learning shortcut keys. In this case, the standard ones are CTRL / Command G to group, CTRL / Command U to un-group and double click a group to edit.
  9. This really could be a great improvement - can't wait to use it. Quick question - do Image Effects work on imported PDFs? I sometimes find myself importing scrappy old PDFs to trace. It would be great if I can reduce the contrast to remove some of the feinter lines for example. Also - if I convert a VWX 2019 file to VWX 2018 - are the adjustments lost or retained but with no further adjustment possible?
  10. This could save tonnes of time rendering! Great how it is non-destructive too - so you can go back to the original easily. Looks good!
  11. Hi I’ve got the Blackmagic eGPU (the one sold exclusively by Apple) on my 2016 MacBook Pro
  12. Eat Sleep Design I want one of those T Shirts - they look cool!
  13. I suspect this is one of those features that you get used to very quickly - then when you have to go back to using 2018 and earlier again - wonder how you ever coped! I was thinking of returning my eGPU as it didn't make too much of a difference - but sounds like it is worth hanging onto now Thanks again @Jim Wilson great work!
  14. Sounds like a great feature! Don't want to start a whole "what's not in 2019" thread - but was really hoping for a GUI update. Cripes VWX feels old now.
  15. You're getting us excited now Jim! (or are you just making a simple statement?)
  16. Hello all Blackmagic eGPU working well with my 2016 MacBook Pro (USB-C) and 5K LG Monitor. Looking at the activity monitor - the eGPU is doing all the work. I need to put it through its paces properly - but so far so good. Benchmark test score is roughly 5 times better than the built in Radeon Pro 460 (4GB). If any one has any specific tests or files they want me to try, feel free to ask! Cheers, Andrew
  17. Hi I did buy an eGPU box a couple of months ago - but I couldn’t get it to work with my LG 5K monitor. But I have just bought the Blackmagic eGPU which does work with Thunderbolt 3 monitors - picking it up Monday so will let you know how it goes! Andrew
  18. Wonderful - thanks Jim. It has 8GB memory and at £600 over here in the UK not overly expensive I don't think? Just asked Apple Support if the GPU is upgradable and they said no - but not the end of the world. I'll be using it with a 5K display. (LG UltraFine USB-C) Heading over to your side of the Atlantic tomorrow for a week - so will get one ordered for when I get home. Thanks Andrew
  19. Hi all Just spotted that Apple have released this : https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/product/HM8Y2B/A/blackmagic-egpu with a Radeon Pro 580 It looks like this has a USB-C out - so could be used with the LG UltraFine Thunderbolt 3 display - I think? Any one know if the Radeon Pro 580 is any good / works with Vectorworks? Andrew
  20. OK Shame - but all working now regardless! Thanks again for your help!
  21. That's perfect! Worked straightaway Thanks so much for your help - hope there will be a native formula added in a future update? Thanks again, Andrew
  22. PS - Does seem odd that there is a formula for Current Revision Number, but not date!
  23. Thanks Jonathan I've done a work around for now by manually adding a comma at the end of each date - then using the Substring function that Nikolay suggested. Thanks so much! Andrew
