Thanks Ray, that works great. now if i want to subtract this from a 3d rectangle so i get the outline of the tree what do i do? i have tried selecting both and subtract solid but it de-selects the tree as its not a 3D object.

what i want to do is extrude this and then subtract this from a block so i have the cutaway of the tree.

I've imported a 2D tree into VW2009 from sketch up, can anyone tell me how to extrude this? i've tried various 'convert to' options but to no avail

I've set up a worksheet in spotlight with columns for channel, fixture etc. and selected to sort via channel, however as some channels are single digit - 1,2,3 and some are 3 digits..101 etc the list when sorted goes 1,101,102,2,3,301,302 etc. is there anyway i can get it to list in numerical order? so it would go 1 thru 99 then 100 onwards? i've looked in format cells and tried various number options with no luck.

thanks ray, you seem to have it sorted though i'm not sure why it wasn't right. the various options to size the image did they come from the image or did you adjust them?

i'm new to doing 3d stuff in Vectorworks and i was wondering how to apply an image (jpeg) to a curtain? everytime i do it it seems to be slightly off centre and tile slightly even with the tile settings off. can anyone help with this? thanks
