  1. It seems more and more often, our projects need to be broken down into phases which poses a problem with the plant list. Is there a way to create more than one plant list in the same drawing that represent different phases?? Thank you for any suggestions.
  2. That worked great. Thank you
  3. I am trying to import a new plant from the plant database into my file. When I go to get plant info there are no azaleas listed. There are many listed in the database, how can I utilize this in my file? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
  4. I did not import a symbols for the landscape areas, what I did was indicate plant types in the landscape area preferences. If you could let me know if I should be doing something different I'd appreciate it. Thanks
  5. Hi - I have done a design using some landscape areas for my perennials and they do not show up on my plant list. Is there a way to have them show up as perennials on the plant list? I did assign a specific perennial from my database when I created the areas. Thanks for any help
  6. Sounds great Jonathan I will be watching for sure.
  7. Can someone please explain sheet layers to me. Here's my situation: I started a drawing and referenced in a base plan. I then mapped over pertinent existing condition info and created a viewport on an existing conditions sheet layer. I moved on to create option 1 for the client and created a viewport on option 1 sheet layer. And finally created an option 3 viewport on option 2 sheet layer. It was my impression the other sheet layers would not be modified and would be the same when I went back to them to easily print what I needed. Instead modifications, not all, are showing up on my 3 different sheet layers. What am I doing wrong? thanks for your help.
  8. Thanks for the reply Ray, but that does not seem to be the problem. Another issue I am having which may be related is everytime I render in any mode, I get an error saying insufficient memory. I have a make with 4GB memory and the file is roughly 50mb so I wonder if it is a glitch with the program? Definately could be operator error as well! Please let me know what you think. Thanks again
  9. Hi, I made it through all the tutorials I could and seemed to have a grasp on rendering but I guess not. I am working on a design and would like to provide a simple 3-D presentation and am having troubled applying textures to structure walls and landscape walls. It shows the texture is associated with my walls but when I render it the walls disappear all together. If I hover over them the outline appears. I have tried changing the attributes with no luck. Any suggestions?
  10. Thank you Ray - I've got some learning to do
  11. I am new to vectorworks and am working through a design previously done in Auto CAD. I finally got to the point of inserting plants and when I do so the text is upside down and backwards - can someone please tell me what setting to adjust. Thanks
  12. We are a landscape design build firm in upstate NY an new Vectorworks users. We have been working through the program but it is evident we could use some one on one help or someone interested in working with us to dress up our drawings. By that I mean we input the two dimensional drawing and a third party inputs the contours, and puts the final touches on the drawing so to speak. Is there anyone using vectorworks in upstate NY who is open to the idea of showing us around the program? Or anyone in any region who would be interested in putting the final touches on our drawings until we get the hang of the program?
