  1. I agree with Steve. I have had some similar problems rendering and some of my challenges were due to the amount of ram available. The activity monitor is an excellent tool and helps you keep a handle on the available resources.

We upgraded our imac to a macpro and have seen a huge leap in computer performance.

  2. The one advantage that I have noticed with the NURBS road tool is the ability to control the roads elevation at each station point. Much more flexible than pads for this type of application.

Your right ginger04 it is far from perfect.

  3. Thanks Tamsin.

The main reason for keeping it in place is for reference purposes. If I want to shift the view its handy knowing were it is. If I select to embed the camera do I lose site of it on the drawing, or is it visa versa?

Is there anyway of undoing 'check the box to stop asking..."

  4. When using the renderworks camera I will place these on a drawing, fine tune them and then create a viewport. Once the viewport is created the location of the camera position is removed from the drawing (top plan). Is there any way the view location can be maintained even once these are used in a viewport? Section views location stay on the drawing but not camera views.

  5. I had a lot of challenges with roads, pads lining up. I resorted to linking them with small pads with slope if required. I would like to see pads have multiple slope options which would help this issue.

  6. Hi

I am trying to change the height of a 3d tree symbol to better reflect the plants height at lets say a 10 year after planting stage. If I change the plant height settings it is not reflected in the plants 3d state...

    Any ideas?

The attached image displays a 10' measurement, this is the height setting on this plant symbol and yet it wants to be 24' in 3D form.

  7. Just upgraded my computer but did not add a SSD...SSD is definitely something I will add-on. From what I have researched it is an upgrade which will speed up some of the workflow... like when VW crashes, reboot will take less time..

  8. I have used the climber or vine plant symbols to cover or grow on structures before (fence, pergola, etc). I have a large retaining wall (20') which I will be planting vines at the top to drape over...Not sure how I can illustrate this in a 3d or model view?

  9. Hello

Can anyone tell me how to successfully overlap two texture beds?

I have a large asphalt area which I want to drop a concrete band or apron into.

I have created both textures yet only the asphalt is visible. Both are in the same layer and class.

  10. Started over yet again.... got it to work...

    Thanks Peter...

The same thing happened to me early on in this project. Fixed itself with no explanation. It was close to printing and created a bit of tension.

  11. So this is weird....

I thought that the texture bed may be causing some issues. I removed it and edited (enlarged) a similar texture bed that was beside the original. See attached, if I don't texture the pathway the site model looks good. Once I texture it I get distortion????

I hope this in not a video card issue....
