Hello, would it be possible to write a script/ create a plug in that would do a Batch Purge.... similar to a Batch Convert.. I'd love to hear if this is possible.. I have many files that I would like to run purges in, thanks in advance Andy

HI, I am using the export to 3D PDF in VW 2016 .. but the exported files don't have all of my save views that are in the VW file.. Each time and even trialling the various settings the file will only have a random number of saved views. Is there a limit to the views? Why won't all my views appear in the 3D PDF? Has anyone used this export yet? thanks Andy Mutton

Hi, When I add symbols and convert it to a lighting instrument, the body of the instrument tilts to resemble it focusing at some point in 3D space. Possibly a default focus point.. Is it possible to turn this auto thing off? VW2015... Thanks in advance for your help.

HI Jim, thanks for response.. If I am to change my stored views to Custom Renderworks. Do I need to change this render for all my stored views or does the animation just see the first render in the fist stored view in the create animation sequence? Andy

Hello VW community.. I am trying to create a a fly through and produce JPEGs for each frame in the path , but its not working as I think it should or maybe it can't do what I want.. I chose Create Animation - Move Along Path - Quicktime Options - Compression type - 'Photo - JPEG' I also create a path between two views over 1 x second Now I was thinking that when I save the file it would produce 30 JPEGS, one for every frame .... but it doesn't do this it just saves a quicktime file... Does anyone know and have the time to let me in on whether it is possible to do what I am trying to do? thanks Andy .. I am using VW 2013 on a large MAC...

hi, I changed the text in the label legends. same thing. I tried another file, same thing. I created a new Label Legend with a new font, then the problem goes away... I was so happy with my new label legend and have been working on 4 files at once... it looks like I have a bit of work to do. thanks A

Hello VW World, I have been using a new font in my Label Legends called Orator Standard. Which I thought looked great. Until I did a batch print and then all the text in the label legends, which is mostly numbers is now been converted to random letters and text. If I print to a PDF single pages the Label Legends are not effected, only when I do the batch print.. I have tried a restart... no change.. HI, thanks for info.. What about templates? If I create a new template and I don't save this template in the the templates folder and instead save this into a drop box folder, when I go to create a new file from this newly created template this file is not listed in the same the list of templates.. So when I want to create a new file I just then open the template file in my drop box folder and a new file is opened. I just tried this and it works for me. But how do I a Workspaces into my dropbox folder, this is something that I can't browse to? Any ideas. Andy

Hi, would it be possibly to just have a template and my workspace in a drop box folder or a shared folder? Or is this a part of the cloud service? It would be very productive for me, as i work across two machine, but its 50/50 as to which machine I create the new file on? Can anyone add to this wish? thanks for your time.. Andy

I will use this heaps... especially before doing a Replace Instruments.. which always catches me out when I have symbols selected on other layers but don't want to replace them.. Maybe because the symbols are on other invisible layers that you get no warning that you have more than one type selected.. Cheers Andy

Thanks Kevin.. I have checked this out.. Not bad.. Though it doesn't list the Symbols and the Instrument type in its legend it list the Model type .. So I have put a request in there for a mod.. Ill keep waiting. Andy

yes I agree.. id love to see some real advancements on the following Label Legends - working in 3D, rounded edges on shading.. Light Positions - Rotating Text on the Light Position name... Key to Instruments - A Once create and Once update function. As a Spotlight users I use these functions a lot but I haven't seen any development on them since I started using VW10 some 8 years ago... Im sure other users would like to see some advancements in these functions.. thanks A

HI Kevin, yes, but if the text was all the same font size before creation could this not be preset some how other than entering the group to edit it. The font sizes that are used on creation are always to small to read when I place the KTI onto a sheet layer.. that was a A4, or A3. It just seems a little tedious to have always change this text the same way. Its the same when you update the KTI.. it re creates it back to the same small font size.. so once again you have to enter the KTI... re size all the fonts.. move them left and right..adjust the width.. its a lot of work... Andy

HI Andi, thanks for your response. and the tip about my profile. Its the font size of the text that appears in the Key to Instrumentation when you create it that I would like to pre -set I find it doesn't matter if I make a template with the font size changed, it still won't effect the text that appears in the 'Key to Instrumentation'. Maybe this is because when you create a KTI, there are three different font sizes in play. 1. for the Instrument Title - Font size 5 2. for the Instrument Symbol names and tally numbers - Font Size 4 and 3. for the Titles that you include in the KTI - Font size 3. That there are 3 different font sizes might be the reason why you can't change the default, or why you can't set this size.. I always end up changing the font sizes for all the text that appears in the KTI. So yes I need "one who knows", how this might be done or achieved Anyone?? And thanks in advance. Hi James, It would be great function to see implemented. In Wysiwyg you can label in other views.. The end product of Stage lighting is viewed from the front.. and is often assembled by technicians who are looking at the design from a front perspective. 3D label legends would thus benefit the Set ups and Construction side of the lighting rigs... and would den fit help in the relaying of infomation.. If you look at any stage design these days the lighting is stacked on top lighting below it.. walls of video , with walls of lighting in front and behind it. Bring on 3D label legends... please. A

HI, who would like to see Label Legends work in 3D views? Anyone? As a stage lighting designer I find the lighting often needs to be viewed in front views as the design is layered from top to bottom. And the work around of putting every sub hung truss on the separate layer is a lot of work.. or duplicating layers Does anyone else feel the same way.. Andy

HI Mk, yes. I edit the viewports in the sheet layer. Selecting Design layer and then Ok I am now at the design layer which has the green border around the page, then when I select Return to Viewport... back to the sheet layer, I now have a green border around the viewport on the Sheet layer, which wasn't there before. The more times I do this same procedure the more green borders will appear stacked onto of the earlier green borders. The only way to get rid of these is to select them on the design layer and delete them.. Is slightly annoying.. Any help appreciated. thanks Andy
