  1. I've been running into a similar problem in VW 2009. I've tried numerous things to get a DWG to import correctly that was originally created in AutoCAD2010. I eventually had to have the architects to explode all blocks and save down to a version 12 DXF, which then imported fine. I was kind of surprised that we had to go to such lengths to get the DWG to import properly. Perhaps this strategy would work for you as well.
  2. That looks like it's going to do the trick. Thanks very much for you help!
  3. I am working on a model of a landscape involving a series of curved walls that rise up out of the ground to reveal the wall edge about 12" on one side and retain the earth to the other. Either end of the wall meets up flush with the ground. I have been trying various ways of modeling this, but to no avail. Does anyone have any good ways of modeling something like that? I attached a plan below, if that helps anyone understand what I am trying to describe. Thanks in advance for your help!
  4. I think what I was trying to do was to use the protrusion and cutout tool to pull the 3d polys, but that was what was giving me trouble. I tried the extrude method, and have been able to get it to work that way. Is there a way to convert an extruded 2d poly into something that can be edited by the protrusion and cutout tool?
  5. I have a model I am trying to create of a streetscape. I've drawn the footprints of the building and road lines in 2D polylines, converted them to 3D polys and then attempted to extrude them. The extrude command will not recognize any of the 3d polys. Then I tried converting to NURBs instead. The extrude command will recognize the NURBS, but once it is highlighted, I cannot enter a height for the NURBS. Any thoughts?
  6. I am experiencing the exact same problem as stated above: "When I try to export to a dwg format my version of VectorWorks 2008 is not able to save the files. I can select export dwg/dxf. I can make all the various export option choices (Format, scale, 2D Fills and Files etc.) and I can select the file name and location for the saved file. But when I hit the SAVE button in the "Export to DWG Folder" window I get the same message every time: Macintosh HD:Applications:VectorWorks 2008:VectorWorks 2008.app"Contents:MacOS-dwg:MacOS.dwg This file already exists. Do you want to replace the existing file? No matter which the file name and file location I chose I get the same message. If I hit "YES" it acts like it's saving something. However, no new documents or folders are created (according to the OS X search function.)" I have tried searching for just ".dwg" and "files created today" without any luck. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. ------------------------- Anna Southgate VectorWorks2008 Fundamdentals, Landmark 13.0.0 (76681) MacOSX v 10.5.4, Dual 2 GHz Power PC G5, 1.5 GB DDR2 SDRAM
