Hi Michael, Just following on from your help with rotating 3D objects, I created a symbol (4 par 64's together) when i try to rotate this it produce's a weird kind of rotate (see attached) what do you think i have done wrong? Many Thanks, Dave.

Hi Guys, Thanks for your replies, I cant seem to do that, all I get is 2 options at the bottom of the OIP (ROTATE 3D) & (REPLACE) I have attached a screen grab of what I am seeing. if I click rotate 3D it just gives me the same options as going to Rotate 3d through the drop down menus........ ? any thoughts. Hi Guys, How do I rotate a hybrid object? I have drawn a truss hanging at a 30? angle and I would like to have the fixtures on that truss to hang at 30? also, how do I do it ? Can it be that hard, I've tried using the rotate 3D tool but it tells me that I can only rotate hybrid objects round he Z axis....... surely not !! Any help appreciated Cheers, Dave.

Hi All, Sure there is a simple way round this, I just don't know it !! I have draw some truss using the truss tool in VW Spotlight and sections of it are showing red even in final renderings of it, I guess this is because that some of the section are not the same lengths as the others, is there a way of turning the red off ? Hi There, Thanks for your reply, OK, yes i have the 'Truetype to Polylines' command in the drop down text menu, I am able to execute this command. I just cant extrude it. I just get the error message "there were objects selected that were locked or are illegal in extrudes and sweeps. They have been deselected" Any ideas ? Cheers, Dave.

Thanks for your reply, OK so I get all the way to the "mapping" bit any tips on how to center the image, I just seem to get it coming from 1 corner when I adjust the "scale" slider cheers.

Ok guy's thanks for the help on this, I have attached a VW2008 file & a jpg. I just want to be able to paste the photograph of the cat onto the oval on the drawing. I seem to be able to get most of the way with your help, but I dont see the image. The oval is a 3D extrude. Cheers.

image size is about 290k and 390x390

Thanks for both quick replies, Both methods seem to get 99% of the way to what I want. I can select the "new texture" in object info then hit update, but the 3D solid just appears gray sure I am just missing some small detail here, any further help would be great, Cheers, XOP15

Hi There, Can anyone tell me a way to rotate a truss circle. I create the truss circle in plan view, I want to be able to rotate the circle 90? so that I can see the circle in front view. I did follow another thread that says to convert to lighting instrument, I select the circle, go to MODIFY, then go to CONVERT, I click on CONVERT TO INSTRUMENT, but it then get the message "only symbols can be converted to instruments. non symbols were not converted and have been selected" any ideas ???
