This Marionette Script creates multiple space objects from worksheet data.

A very nice and time saving Marionette script to automate a routine peace of work.

 

Please consider, that the the script takes the area column and calculate the square with that. If you have a language settings with comma instead of points for decimal seperator, the calculation will fail. Use points as decimal character or eliminate decimal places in your list

The Part of the network which change the space's boundaries do not work in 2021 because "vs.SetCustomObjectPath(h_obj, h_path)" does not affect the space anymore. The Network was updated and edit the existing space boundary, instead of replacing it.

Hi Dom, could really use this but does not seem to work in VW 2021? I upload my text file but get no spaces returned? Thanks,

I don't know which Textfile you use and which script (Version 2018, 2019 or 1.0.2?). The Message says, that you try to take the square route of something that is not a number or which is 0. 
 

The Script also works with 2021. If you connect a random textfile with random settings of the data mapping. How the script should react in your opinion except an error message?

I get an error (see screenshot) when trying to run the script.. any help??

Response from the author:

The Spaces will be created with a size related to an area in your List. Possible maloperation could be you define a column with no numeric strings. Also if your numbers uses comma as a decimal-seperator instead of a point. The Script can't convert them into a number and report that as an error message. It is quite common, software can not handle  any kind of maloperation and fix automatically wrong inputs.
In newer Versions the Script uses a custom version of the Float- Node. It tries to convert without error. If an issue occurs it returns just 4 qm instead of an error message. Don't know which is better.
