Jake Wilson 10 Posted February 11 Nicely done, I played around with this idea a bit last year and came up with a simple curve for an event selfie wall concept quote. Only made it so far before we surpassed the event budget and had to put it on the back burner. Built this one over a line circle to get the arch and used the LED tool and used single panels and rotated into place. The most time consuming part was scaling the images to fit into each column and keep the image true. We did a quick mockup in the shop to confirm we could achieve this curve and it was only off by a couple degree. I know it's a bit of a sledge hammer approach but my boss and the clients liked how it looked so... 2024 Calgary Marathon Screen curve V1.vwx 1 Quote Link to comment
James Russell 81 Posted February 12 Martin, Firstly well done on an excellent LED tool script. @Scott C. Parker and team if you haven't seen this from a concept point of view this is an excellent example of how a Modular Simple Curve LED Wall tool could look for future releases of Spotlight LED Packages - albeit probably more slimilinely programmed in Python raw over Marionette. I think the way you've done your texture mapping is super interesting and I'll be having a dive into that Marionette logic a bit later - congratulations! 2 Quote Link to comment
R_Teunissen 26 Posted February 18 This looks really nice Martin. especially the fact, that you can add bumpers, both on top as on the bottom. Hopefully a future revision is able to interact with trusses, hanging positions and hoists. In an ideal world the Led Curve Object would get the weight information from the individual symbols. Also a means to attach a video file to the screen (for Showcase or other pre-vis) would be nice. Great work! Quote Link to comment
Bluetones 2 Posted March 14 LOVE THIS TOOL! I just downloaded it, and I already want to go back through so many drawings and kill my old workflow!! Future thoughts: Auto calculation of Weights, both frames (symbol based), rigging, and cabling. (Probably best placed within the frame symbol I guess.) Auto calculation of Power Some way to pull all the data into a Data Tag. I don't know if that's just tweaking the Marionette to expose the data, or if that only works within raw programming. (Python, C++, whatever.) Complex curves. Start straight, do 3 tiles as 5 degree curved, then straight again, then mirror to the other side... (yeah I know... but if you don't ask... 😜) 1 Quote Link to comment
