The Site Modelling course is suitable for architects, landscape architects and garden designers.
Sites are rarely flat and you may need to be able to access the impact of a design on a real representation of the terrain. The site modelling tools within Vectorworks Architect and Vectorworks Landmark are extremely powerful and will help you understand how a proposed landscape design of building will sit within the landscape. It will also enable you to gain cut and fill estimates based on your design proposals.&nbsp:
AGENDA
Learn how to use your own survey data, or data from a surveyor to create a model of the existing terrain Use the site analysis tools to gain a better understanding of the land before making initial design decisions Use the Site Modifier and Grade tools to create new flat areas, insert new spot heights and reshape contours Create roadways, paths, paved areas, retaining walls and accommodate steps Align design features to the surface of the model, including plants, buildings, and simple roads Report accurate spot levels on the model Create sections of the model Access cut and fill requirements for the whole model or specific areas COURSE PRE-REQUISITES
It is essential that you already have an understanding of the 3D environment within Vectorworks, and an understanding of 2D/3D hybrid tools within Vectorworks Landmark or Vectorworks Architect. This knowledge can be gained from the following courses:

Description:
BIM for landscape is possible thanks to powerful softwares being utilized in the landscape design industry today. In Norway, policies have come a long way in ensuring a standard for IFC as we know it today. In this presentation with Åge Langedrag, M.Arch./BIM Specialist Landscape Architecture with Multiconsult, he’ll cover how BIM for landscape has evolved and shaped our way of site design for the last 15+ years, the standardization of open BIM and IFC for landscape, and explore this information in project examples – all the while evaluating design software’s place throughout current workflows.
Learning Objectives:

Explore projects that have utilized BIM for landscape since 2005 while analyzing successes and flaws. Learn how national standards for BIM for landscape are continuing to develop, providing more support and guidance for practitioners being required to include BIM in their product delivery. Investigate design software that delivers open BIM to landscape professionals. Register

In this webinar, explore how to import a venue ground plan, build a stage layout and insert a small seating section.Register

Description:&nbsp:
The process of integrating exterior and interior features often begins with a desire to both physically enhance the occupant experience inside the built environment while also addressing energy efficiency and sustainability goals. Integrating a building into the landscape allows architects to design for the environment and lowers a building’s ecological footprint. Architects and landscape architects, building owners, occupants, and building visitors can all benefit from creative, aesthetic, and sustainable designs that merge seamlessly with the environment of the site location.

At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:
Describe the benefits to be achieved when architecture and landscape architecture practices are merged: List the energy efficiency and sustainability benefits of melding site and architectural design:
Explain the importance of early planning and coordination with design and build teams for successful integration of interior and exterior design and features: and
Describe the benefits to the designer and builder by merging indoor and outdoor architectural design strategies and features.

Spoiler: it all boils down to understanding that everyone from architects to lighting designers is part of one team, and that each member is willing and able to accommodate each other's needs and work together to complete the project.
Learning Objectives:&nbsp: • Achieve a basic understanding of BIM workflows. • Learn how to use BIM when collaborating with other disciplines, including architects. • Understand the IFC file format. • Explore the benefits of IFC when working with architects and contractors. Register

The design of rigging structures is an integral part of the event, entertainment, display, and exhibit industries. The Braceworks® suite of commands and tools inserts and connects supporting structures (such as trusses and lighting pipes), adds hoists and other supports, and then adds loads to the structures.
With our Braceworks Essentials seminar, you will explore how to accurately calculate and analyze the structural forces of a hanging rigging system, to determine whether the structural system is viable.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Review Truss and Support Tools
Explore Hoists and Suspension
Add connection points
Insert Loads (Lighting, Video, Audio, Curtains…)
Adjust system heights
Explore how to create a Bridle
Learn how to run Braceworks Calculations
Generate a Calculation Report
Best Suited For: Riggers
Skill Level: Intermediate
