During troubleshooting, Vectorworks Technical Support may require you to sent in your Installer Log. This log contains information about the installation process, as well as hardware and OS information from the machine it was installed on. (If the installation did not complete sucessfully, there may not be an installer log present.)

Windows:

1) Click the Start button at the bottom left and click My Computer or Computer. If you are on Windows 8, click the "File Explorer" icon in your task bar.

2) On your main hard drive (Normally your C: drive) under C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files(x86) you will see your "Vectorworks 20XX" folder, where the XX may differ depending on what version of Vectorworks you are attempting to install. 

3) Open the Vectorworks 20XX folder, inside you should see an "InstallerLog.txt" file. This is the file required by technical support. Send this file in a reply to their request.  

Mac OS X:

1) Click the Finder icon on the left side of your dock, then select Applications from the list on the left.

2) Inside the Applications folder, you will see your Vectorworks 20XX folder, where the XX may differ depending on what version of Vectorworks you are attempting to install. 

3) Open the Vectorworks 20XX folder, inside you should see an "InstallerLog.txt" file. This is the file required by technical support. Send this file in a reply to their request.
