    Graphics Driver Updates:
On Windows especially, graphic cards need their drivers updated regularly. These updates will not always happen automatically during Windows update. Instructions for doing so can be found HERE. Make sure to upgrade your graphics drivers to the latest version before cosnidering replacing hardware or other troubleshooting steps.

    Windows

1/09/2014 - ATI Radeon HD 4550 graphics cards may experience crashing during zooming and panning, as well as using the Workspace Editor. Upgrading your graphics card driver as described should resolve the issue. Instructions for doing so can be found above.

1/09/2014 - Intel Integrated Graphics - Intel HD, Intel GMA, Intel Iris - These graphics cards barely meet the minimum hardware requirements for Vectorworks. If you must use one of these series of cards, make sure the graphics drivers are updated to the latest version for the best possible results.  Instructions for doing so can be found above.

9/17/2013 – ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro graphics cards may randomly display a checker pattern on screen.  Disabling “Snap Highlighting” or choosing a solid snap highlighting color under the “Interactive Appearance Settings” can work around the issue.

8/19/2013 – ATI Radeon HD 4450 graphics cards may randomly open a second file or new file as all black or all white when the previous file was rendered in OpenGL rendering mode; Vectorworks will need to be restarted to restore the display.

    Macintosh

6/3/2009 – Random OSX crashes have been reported against NVIDIA's GeForce 6800 and GeForce 7300 cards when running under OSX 10.5 and later. Often replacing the graphics card is the only resolution
