This is for Vw2023, but it should be a similar process to roll back in Vw2025. See the following link.

The revit export functionality is a very welcome step in the right direction! Being able to customise export, and send out native revit items such as walls, will be really critical in improving our collaborative process with other consultants working in Revit.

Having said the above, we need this to be implemented more thoroughly; we have found the export process fine for simple models with a few basic walls, but other objects are crashing the export, or failing to appear in the exported revit, or showing other buggy behaviour like coming out at incorrect levels (i.e. when our model is positioned above 0 in the z-axis to work with a survey model/ collaborative model to a Datum level).

    Hi

It will not let me update.

Keeps telling me Vectorworks is open......... when it is not.

Numerous attempts on 'Retry' to no avail.

Looks like I'm staying on Update 3 then 🙂

I encountered this issue Michael, and as I recall simply restarting my Mac was all that was required to remedy it.

We hit a major snag today.

On one laptop, the Mac is running OS15....ISSUE 1: there's a reoccurring issue of the navigation bar for Vectorworks disappearing and you can only navigate within the tools. we tried updating to the latest 4.1 and we still have the navigation bar issue but now we also have a panning issue. ISSUE 2: If you have multiple layers visible only the checked layer will pan, the other visible layers stay in a plan state. if you switch layers the panned layer stays static in whatever position it was in when switched and the new checked layer now pans. We need to be able to pan to see the whole model (meaning whichever layers that are visible pan together so that we can see the model in 3d).

The second laptop (second license) is also having problems with ISSUE 2. We are left with only one fully functioning license in our office. Help!

These are not issues that I have heard others mention on the Forum.

For this kind of issue, it is often better and faster to contact VW Technical Support directly.

There is certainly some type of corruption in the installation.

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try if Technical Support does not get back to you immediately.

    Quote

Other standard trouble shooting steps are:

    1.  Check if the same issue occurs in a new blank document.  If the issue does not exist, import half the layers (with the objects) from the problem file. If the problem exists then you know know it is with that half the layers.  Repeat with a smaller number of layers.  If the problem doesn’t exist import the other half the layers and see if the problem exists.  Sheet Layers can be manually created in the new file and then viewports and objects Copied/Pasted into the new file. Bring Design Layers in before moving the Sheet Layers and Viewports.

    2. Run the Vectorworks Updater (in the Vectorworks folder in Applications folder). Click on the Advanced button on the right center and then choose Repair. Let this run and see if it solves the problem.

    3. In Vectorworks Preferences click the Reset button at the bottom left.  This will clear everything in your preferences except your serial number, so you will have to set things back to how you like them. Restart VW and see the problem is fixed.

    4. Make sure you are not running any "helper" apps that might be interfering with VW.  One way to check is to boot into "Safe Mode".  On a Mac, "Turn on or restart your Mac, then immediately press and hold the Shift key until you see the login window. Log in to your Mac. You might be asked to log in again. On either the first or second login window, you should see “Safe Boot” in the menu bar." Check and see if the problem is gone. If not, then quit VW and restart in normal mode. If the problem is solved then check and see what apps are started a boot time that could be causing problems and turn them off. Anti-Virus software is also a potential source of issues.

    5. In Vectorworks Preferences:User Folder pane click the Reveal in Finder button to see you user folder in the Finder.  Go back to VW and quit.  Rename your user folder. Restart VW.  It will create a new User folder for you.  Check if the problem is solved.  If it is not, quit VW, delete the new user folder, and change the name back on the original folder.  If the problem is solves then you have to decide what information you need to copy from the original user folder to the new one.

    6. Uninstall and reinstall VW.

It would help if you posted the file.

Issue 1.  Not sure what you mean by navigation bar.  Can you post a screen shot?

Issue 2.  I wonder if Unified Views are turned off?  File>Document Preferences>Document Settings…>Legacy 2D Tab.  If Enable legacy 2D features is checked, make sure Turn off unified view us unchecked.
