    Dell Applications: ControlPoint and Security Manager

    Operating Systems affected - Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7
     

    If the ControlPoint and Security Manager noted above are installed, Vectorworks silently fails to launch generating no error for the user. This problem happens completely in the operating system during the launch process before the first line of code in Vectorworks is executed.

    Removing ControlPoint and Security Manager applications from the control panel solves the issue and allows Vectorworks to launch properly. If the user re-installs the Dell ControlPoint or Security Manager from the Dell web site causes the issue to re-appear.
