After updating macOS from version 15.3.2 to 15.4, you may notice that images using Full Color with Alpha (32bpp) appear fully black when macOS is in Dark Mode and grey in Light Mode within Vectorworks.
This affects some older files or resources using images, image fills, and textures that were previously rendered correctly.
This issue is specific to macOS 15.4 and was not present in 15.3.2 or earlier. We have submitted a bug report to Apple for investigation, and we are monitoring the situation closely. We will provide updates once more information becomes available, or a resolution is confirmed.
If you rely on accurate rendering of 32bpp images with transparency in Vectorworks, we recommend delaying the update to macOS 15.4 until the issue is resolved.
If you’ve already updated and are affected, consider switching to macOS Light Mode for a marginal improvement (images will appear grey instead of black), or, if possible, roll back to macOS 15.3.2.
