By default, the Z key in Vectorworks will invoke Snap Loupe mode, a sort of "magnifying glass" for Vectorworks. This special zoom mode allows you to narrow in dramatically on a specific area of your design for the purpose of detailed drawing or snapping. If one level of Snap Loupe is not sufficient, you can keep adjusting your cursor to hover over the desired area and press Z again to magnify the view even further. Once you are satisfied with your cursors location, click to perform the action and return to your standard view. Pressing ESC will allow you to cancel Snap Loupe without clicking.
