  • Migrating content libraries to a newer version of Vectorworks

    PVA - Admin

If you have modified the default libraries in a previous version of Vectorworks, or have default libraries from a previous version that are not provided with the current version, you may want to then bring these files along during your upgrade. You may find that when you attempt to add these older libraries to the resource browser, that you encounter an error message. This is because the files have not been converted to the format used by the later version. Steps for doing so can be found below:

    1) Rename the content libraries that you have modified. (If you do not, you may inadvertantly overwrite the default content libraries in your newer version.)

    2) Using the Batch Convert function (steps for which can be found HERE), convert the older library files to the newer Vectorworks format. You should set the Destination folder to a new folder on your desktop.

    3) Once Batch Convert completes, you will then be able to add the converted library files to your Resource Browser. (Steps for which can be found HERE
