Users that have used the 30-day temporary serial number (VWEVAL-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx) or an may experience an issue where they are asked to reactivate their license of Vectorworks, but when they click "Activate" they are told their serial number is invalid or expired.
To correct this issue, you will require your full Vectorworks license key to replace the VWEVAL token and you will need to follow the instructions below:
Windows XP, Vista and 7:
Go to the Start Menu and either in the Run bar or the Start Search bar type: "regedit"
Windows XP:
Windows Vista / Windows 7:
In the Registry Editor, expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Nemetschek, right click on the "Vectorworks 1X" folder and choose "Delete"
Empty the Recycle Bin and relaunch Vectorworks. You should now be able to enter the new license key.
Windows 8 and 10:
Right click on the Start menu and choose Run. Then type "regedit" into the Run window and click OK.
In the Registry Editor, expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Nemetschek, right click on the "Vectorworks 1X" folder and choose "Delete"
Empty the Recycle Bin and relaunch Vectorworks. You should now be able to enter the new license key.
Mac:
NOTE: On Mac OSX 10.7 or newer, the Library folder for your User account is hidden. The easiest way to display it is to open Finder, then hold down the alt/option key on your keyboard while clicking "Go" from the menu bar, then selecting "Library"
Go to HD:Users:(Your User Folder):Library:Preferences, move the "net.nemetschek.vectorworks.license.201X.plist" to the trash.
Restart your computer and then empty the trash. Finally, relaunch Vectorworks. You should now be able to enter the new license key.
