Transitioning to Information Modeling Workflows

Description:

Withthe growing pressures of tight budgets, quick project delivery, and theincreasing need to integrate with BIM workflows, landscape architects need towork smarter, not harder. Join Eric Berg, PLA, ASLA, senior associate atPacific Coast Land Design, and Robert Anderson, PLA, ASLA, principal of ROBERTANDERSON | landscape architect, and Matt Wilkins, PLA, ASLA, landscape architect at RRM Design Group as they discuss how their firms transitioned tosite information modeling workflows from traditional CAD platforms. Attendeeswill explore the challenges associated with this transition through real-world workflowexamples using Vectorworks Landmark, highlighting the interdisciplinary, collaborative benefits of this change.

Learning Objectives:

  • Summarize the deciding factors that encourage firms tomove away from general CAD workflows to site information modeling through casestudy projects.

  • Identify timelines, pain points, resources, andefficiencies gained regarding the transition to site information modelingworkflows.
  • Assess site information modeling features used as part ofdaily processes from conceptual drawings and modeling to construction documentsand presentations.

  • Learn how to interact and collaborate with otherdisciplines using 3D models, BIM (IFC) files, and GIS data.
