When we think about history’s greatest architects and designers, it’s easy to reflect solely on their iconic accomplishments, but the struggles, pressures, and uncertainties that influence their creative processes are quickly forgotten as the present becomes the past. Everything from a person’s upbringing and social environment to the technological developments of their time period profoundly affects how they view and interact with the world, and there are no better examples of this than architect Walter Gropius and designers Charles and Ray Eames. :In this episode of Art in Architecture, viewers will explore the lives of these pivotal designers to gain a deeper understanding of the powerful effect that individuals and their life stories can have on the history of architecture.
